Observe Covid-19 protocols or I’ll lock down the country – Akufo-Addo

President Akufo-Addo has threatened to put Ghana under a lockdown should there be a rapid increase in cases of COVID-19.

The president who seemed unhappy during his 22nd address to the nation on January 17, 2021, said Ghana is likely to go under lockdown again.

President Akufo-Addo said;

“We do not want to go back to the days of partial lockdowns which had a negative impact on our economy and way of life.

But should that become necessary, and should the number of active cases continue to increase at the current rate, I will have no option other than to reimpose these restrictions because it is better to be safe than to be sorry. So together, let us all ensure that we respect the protocols.”
