Ghanaian-Romanian Musician, Wanlov Kubolo whose real name is Emmanuel Owusu-Bonsu shockingly reveals that homosexuality existed among the Ashantis and Nzemas long before colonialism.
Speaking on the Peace FM Entertainment Review, the ‘Kokonsa’ hit-maker claimed that even before Kwame Nkrumah gained independence for Ghana, the Ashantis and Nzemas were practicing the act which compelled that ‘Whites’ to bring the anti-gay laws.
He argued;
”We didn’t have anything like that law against LGBT in Ghana and West Africa in general, it was the whites that brought it and now they have realized how wicked they were towards us and that they didn’t bring a good law so why should Ghanaians be angry at them.”
Wanlov Kubolo added that before the white even arrived in Africa, men were marrying men in West Africa not necessarily for sex but for companionship.
