Kenneth Ayew Kwegyir, popularly known as Kay Kenneth, is a Ghanaian Christian musician, songwriter, and worship artist based in Obuasi, with roots in Abura Dunkwa in Ghana’s Central Region.
Kay Kenneth’s musical journey began in childhood. At around the age of 13, he started performing existing songs on stage, particularly during a popular entertainment programme known as Fun World, which was held at the renowned A.G.A. Club in Obuasi. During his early years as a performer, he developed a strong interest in love songs and R&B music, often performing songs by groups such as Westlife and other notable R&B artistes.
As his musical journey evolved, Kay Kenneth began singing in church, although his involvement was initially occasional. His passion for songwriting, however, had already begun taking shape from a very young age. He started creating songs from Psalms and other Bible verses he had memorised, gradually developing a unique approach to Christian songwriting.
His songwriting ability continued to grow during his Senior High School years and became even stronger during his time at the university. His music is largely inspired by personal life experiences and, most importantly, his desire to develop a deeper and more intimate relationship with God.
For Kay Kenneth, songwriting can happen in different ways. At times, melodies and rhythms come to him through dreams, with lyrics following later during the day. On other occasions, the lyrics come first and the melody follows. Whenever a melody comes to him, he quickly records it on his phone so he can preserve the idea before developing the song further. His lyrics are usually written down and carefully developed into complete songs.
In 2017, during his third year at university, Kay Kenneth recorded his first three complete songs. Two years later, in 2019, he officially released his first single, “Faithful God.” In 2020, he followed up with another single, “You Are My God,” and later that same year released his first audio EP, titled “I Give My All.”
Although his music journey has experienced periods of inconsistency due to various challenges, Kay Kenneth is now returning to the music scene with renewed passion and purpose. Rather than simply releasing new music, he is beginning this new chapter by revisiting the songs from his “I Give My All” EP through music videos.
He believes these songs still carry powerful messages capable of impacting lives and drawing people closer to God. Through the visual presentation of the songs, he hopes to give the messages a renewed expression and introduce his music to a new generation of listeners.

Kay Kenneth’s mission is simple but profound: to deliver God to His people through music and messages, through Jesus Christ.
His music is not merely an expression of his artistic ability; it is a vessel through which he seeks to share faith, hope, worship, personal testimony, and the transforming message of Jesus Christ.
As he begins this new chapter, Kay Kenneth is committed to growing as an artiste, songwriter, and minister, while using his God-given gift of music to touch hearts, inspire lives, and ultimately bring people into a deeper relationship with God.
