Martin Amidu has resigned as the Special Prosecutor in a letter dated November 16, 2020, to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
In his resignation letter, Martin Amidu stated that his decision decision is to enable the president to take steps to appoint a replacement as required by law.
He also added that president’s “firm promise to respect and ensure same by your Government for my independence and freedom of action as the Special Prosecutor”.
