Chief Justice swears-in Alban Bagbin as speaker of the 8th parliament

The Chief Justice has sworn-in former Member of Parliament (MP) for Nadawoli Kaleo, Alban Sumani Kingsford Bagbin as Speaker of the 8th Parliament.

He was elected after several votes from the Members of Parliament elect.

Alban Sumani Kingsford Bagbin after being sworn in made his acceptance speech which had all he said summarized saying;

“I humbly accept the high and privilege office of the 8th republic Ghana. I want to thank the Almighty God for protecting myself and my family.”

“I also want to thank you for putting this great responsibility on me. I would also like to thank Ghanaians, the Electoral Commission, public service and my great party, the National Democratic Congress(NDC)for protesting me as Speaker of parliament for the 8th republic of Ghana. I will submit myself to the will of this house and pledge to serve you and my country to the best of my responsibility”.
