Late Mfantseman MP’s widow files to contest polls

The wife of the late Member of Parliament for Mfantseman Constituency, Ophelia Kwansah Hayford, has filed her nomination at the district office of the Electoral Commission in Saltpond in the Central Region to contest the parliamentary elections as the candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Addressing the media and party supporters on Tuesday, October 20, the wife of Ekow Kwansah Hayford said she can’t win the seat without the support of the party.

Therefore, she rallied support for a massive campaign to achieve the aim of the late MP.

“If the people of Mfantseman Constituency vote for me to become their Member of Parliament in the upcoming election, I will make sure to continue and complete all the projects left by her husband,” she assured the people of Mfantseman.

The NPP Constituency Chairman, Alhaji Jibril Adam, also thanked the National Executive Council for accepting the constituency’s proposal to replace the late Mfantseman MP with his wife.

“On behalf of the Mfantseman Constituency, we want to assure the party that, we will fully support her with all our strength to able her to win the seat.”
