NDC to appoint Speaker of Parliament and Committee Chairs – Asiedu Nketia

The General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah has said results available to them so far indicate that the party has won the majority of parliamentary seats from the December 7, 2020 polls.

According to him, by implication, the NDC will be appointing the next Speaker of Parliament and Chairperson of all Committees in the Parliament.

He made this know in the media briefing whiles indicating that figures available to the NDC equally show that the Presidential Candidate, former President John Mahama is leading the polls.

He revealed that as of about 4 pm, no single result from the regional coalition center has yet reached the National Collation Centre for verification before the declaration.

He there, therefore, warn the Electoral Commission to do the right thing else they should be ready to face the consequences of any attempt to subvert the will of the people.

The two leading Parties, NDC and the NPP are all claiming victory.

Meanwhile, the Electoral Commission (EC) in a press statement has postponed the timeline for declaring the 2020 Presidential election results for 5:00 pm today, December 7, 2020.
