For less than 24 hours now, ace Black Stars midfielder and Chelsea star, Michael Essien has been on the social media ‘chopping board’ after throwing his weight behind the LGBT community in Ghana.
A few hours ago, Michael Essien in an IG post assured the group of his support and urged them to continue fighting for their rights.
He posted “We see you, we hear you, we support you. Our LGBTIA community in Ghana,”

However, Michael Essien’s support to the community has raised a lot of hatred for him as fans and followers unfollowed him after his post.
According to a post made by Kelly, the LGBT post which has been deleted has cost Essien to lose over 500,000 followers in less than 24hrs.
