NDC Chairman, Ofosu Ampofo in the dock today

Information just in from a grapevine says Samuel Ofosu Ampofo will be in an Accra court today on charges of assault on a public officer and conspiracy to commit harm. FN News reports

The Commercial Court One is the venue for the hearing and Samuel Ofosu Ampofo is facing the same charges as Kweku Boahen, both of whom are National Executives of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Their appearance in court tomorrow follows alleged leaked audio that suggested that Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, NDC National Chairman, allegedly inciting party members in a secret meeting against the chairperson of the Electoral Commission and IGP.

Later in a radio interview, Kweku Boahen was alleged to have admitted that the voice on the alleged audio was that of his National Chairman, who had denied the contents.

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) invited the two via WhatsApp messages to interrogate them on the matter, and after a month of concluding its investigation, the CID has prosecuted the two NDC big shots to be put in the dock today April 16.
