NPP retains Oquaye as Speaker, Osei-Kyei Mensah-Bonsu as Leader in Parliament

The National Council of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has selected the current Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Prof. Aaron Oquaye as Speaker of the 8th Parliament which will be inaugurated on January 7, 2021.

The National Council at a meeting on Monday afternoon also selected incumbent Majority Leader Osei-Kyei Mensah-Bonsu as Leader of the Party in Parliament.

He’s to be deputized by the MP for Effutu, Alexander Afenyo-Markin.

Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri Frank Annor Dompreh takes the position of Chief Whip.

He’s to be deputized by MP for Ayawaso West Wuogon, Lydia Alhassan and MP for Tolon, Hon. Habib.
