Celebrated Ghanaian musician, Stonebwoy, whose real name is Livingstone Etse Satekla has asked the organizers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) to do the right thing.
In a Twitter post sighted by FNN24, the ‘Sobolo’ singer suggested that the VGMA board should have a dialogue with Shatta Wale and himself before lifting the ban on them.
VGMA Board on Friday, February 12, 2021 released a press statement indicating that it has “lifted the ban imposed on Ghanaian artistes, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy”.
According to the Press Statement, the acts can now file nominations to be part of the upcoming award but must, however, do so before the 15th February deadline set to close nominations.
But, Stonebwoy think the board should have engaged him and Shatta Wale before deciding to lift ban imposed on them.
He tweeted;
Dear VGMA Board & Scheme organisers,I hear the purpose of the VGMA is to celebrate and project Ghanaian musicians and music.If that is so, it takes nothing from you to meet with us the artistes/ our reps b4 reaching decisions that affect us and communicating them to the public. pic.twitter.com/4hnx7irqVE
